trying to remove stereo head unit w\ radio tool but still not coming out. am i missing something????

the typical method is to use the steel from a hanging file folder
but i'd recommend just getting a couple of the cheap-o sets from ebay.
I seriously doubt lexan will work, it will likely stress fracture right at the notch, leaving some lexan in you radio, making it nearly impossible to get out.

The only problem with the "one-side-at-a-time" method is that the keys are supposed to lock in place
and can only be removed once the unit is out of the dash. If they're not locking, then they're either somehow faulty or it's operator error.
