Default Twittering bypass valves

To all the modders out there, I've been watching a lot of video clips of various turbo cars lately, and i'm getting hooked on the twittering sound coming from bypass valves when the foot comes off the throttle.

Is there such a valve available for the 2.0T? Has anyone installed one or have a recording of one in action?

Default You don't want Tweety under your hood. Bad for the air/fuel ratio. There have been

a few carefully engineered blow-off valves or pop-off valves for higher output applications of 1.8t, and 2.7t, but most end up making the car bounce between running too rich and too lean - not good.

You see, VAG engines recirculate the exhaust gas as a way to keep the turbo spinning even after you've closed the throttle. This allows it to spool up faster when you get on the gas. They use what is know as a bypass or diverter valve. A blow-off valve vents air that has been metered into the open atmosphere, thereby throwing off the engine computer's calculations.

Here are some basic pics to give you an idea of how it works.

Search the B5 S4 forums to get an earful;-)

Default Um the forge BOV doesn't do anything to the A/F ratios & etc . . . .

there's a thread about it on vortex that I'll link once it comes back up.

Default Does it really work? Has somebody run the data blocks? Has somebody dyno'd the car?

Just curious.....

Last time it came across my radar, the jury was out.

So no apparent loss of power, but no a/f ratio graphs. Better than nothing I guess.

Default Looking forward to your feedback

I'm not sure if I can come by and listen to your car once you've installed the BOV; I live in the SF Bay Area. However, if you could make audio or video recordings of the BOV in action, that would be fantastic, and may help potential buyers make a purchase decision.
