UK warranty, 54k miles, do I renew?
I'm sure lots of people have had the same decision to make - do I pay about 400 pounds to extend my warranty for a measly 12 months, or do I risk it and get any repairs done with an Audi/VW specialist who I trust more than the franchise? (And he only costs 1/2 of the Audi labour costs).
What are the major kind of things that go wrong that make people think "Thank the Lord I'm under warranty"?
I've had to fix exhaust, engine undertray, and get new front and rear pads and disks, none of which are covered by the warranty.

I have only had my first Audi for a couple of months, but going by my past experience these local independent brand specialists tend to be reliable and cheap. In fact I have had a past (5year old) car in the dealer for weeks for an electrical problem, and a local independent guy sorted it in a couple of days.
I think 400 is a bit rich, as you say most of the wareables aren't covered anyway. Unless I have an unreliable motor I wont be pluming for it when my 3years are up.
