No mention of this at 3 different dealers when shopping for my A3 3.2. I own a B6 A4. Do I need to ask for it and can it be applied on top of the deal/order I already placed? TIA

But 95% of the cars you can buy will lose 20% of their value (purchase price v.s. trade-in value) the second you sign the paperwork.
If you buy a car, plan on keeping it for at least 2 years.
If you don't think you will keep it this long, lease it.
If something unexpected comes along, you eat it....but don't blame the dealer or the manufacturer, they didn't do anything wrong.

I trade in my max for A3 2.0 and lost 20% only after 6 months. I regret what I did since the performance of A3 2.0 is far inferior to maxima. I chipped and performance is now better but still cannot accelerate as good as maxima especially from stopping. I bought A3 with the hope that chipping will bring its performance to the level of maxima, but I was wrong. Cannot afford A6 or A8 so may look into Lexus IS350 with hp of 306 in the next 1-2 years. Got to save $$$ before getting rid of A3.

"eat it....but don't blame the dealer or the manufacturer". True. Double true.

Get the whatever over 85 fixed. Fully disclose to the buyer. They're covered.

The dealer needs to exceed a certain number of cars in sales and the incentive amount varies by car. It does NOT apply to the V6. Expires at the end of the month.

Legally they can't blow you off. If the car is close to citrus status, then ask the service manager to speak to a zone rep the next time they are in, about getting bought out. If the car really has incurable problems, there is often a good chance they will look at refunding most if not all of your money - more than you're seeing in trade.
The Open Sky problem you had is something nobody else has reported. My guess is that something fell on the glass during transport and began the process. No answer for the radiator without seeing it. If you have driveline vibrations, then the zone rep really should look at this car. If that can't be fixed in short order, you've got great grounds for replacement or buy-out.
As for trading a car in to the dealer so you won't be selling a lemon to the next owner, it sounds as if you're just letting some dealer somewhere be the bad guy for something you may know, but want to sweep under the rug. If you're not the kind of person to do that to somebody personally......?
I'm guessing you made the wrong choice of car, and have been regretting it ever since. There is nothing wrong in saying you've made a mistake. Usually when people have problems with a car they really like(d), they fight to get it fixed. It becomes a crusade of sorts.
In the end if you're happy with whatever other car you get, that's all you can hope for, but I think you are really selling yourself short if you do have real grounds from a lemon and are not pursuing the route of a buy-back from the manufacturer.
