3.0 TDI

I'm almost buying a used 2003 A3 2.0TDI in Germany (I'm from Portugal), I have 2 or 3 cars in mind with some of goods in it, but there is a bigger and cheaper offer from private sellers...

So, any one here from germany that can tell me how long the A3 warranty is there, and if its valid for all Europe???

From what I have been told, the German warranty is 2 years with no standard service included. I dont know about extending or any thing like that, but im sure that its 2 years from purchuse date.

I fall under the German warranty because of my location, even though its an American spec car. When I move back to the states, the car will be covered under normal U.S. 4 year warranty with service.

Give your local Audi dealer a call for the correct answer. He would know the best.

EU Law states that all consumer goods must be covered by at least a 6 month gaurantee and 2 year warranty from the date of purchase. Here in Germany there are differences between warranty and Garauntee - Warranty is covered by the seller (dealer)and covers all faults that occur / Gaurantee by the manufacturer and only covers faults which can be proven to have been caused by faulty material and/or manufacturing.

The first 6 months from registration you can go to any Audi dealer from then on you have to go back to the dealer where you bought the car.

On used articles the seller, if a professional business, must give 2 years Gaurantee against faults within reason for the age and apparent condition of the product!
