Watch those clutch pedal noises (long)...
Good News: previous brake problem solved.
Bad News: dealer discovered clutch pin installed at an incorrect angle and broke when pedal was removed for access to brakes.
Turns out the squeak which came when depressing and releasing clutch pedal was the pin under stress.
As I understand it, this pin aids flywheel operation and ensures correct drop in revs when engaging clutch?!
Get those clutch squeaks checked - this is a ten day old car!
Pin is a back order item and comes from Germany. 10 days wait.
Should have bought a Skoda...

Re: Week clutch...
The standard factory-fitted clutch really is extremely week and can't take any -even minor- abuse. Mine has that distinctive melted-metal smell after every quick spin...

A31.8T clutch upgrade...
Has anyone considered this (brands, size etc.) and if so what are the main things to consider (except for warranty issues)?
Also, anyone with short-shift gear lever on A3? A3's gear lever is 'so much' less precise than S3's, so I am thinking about this!
