Anyone know where I can find weight distribution stats for the A3, specifically the 3Dr 2.0 TDI?
Been chucking mine around the Nurburgring Nordschliefe and it's very nose heavy. Would be interested to see the figures.

Kerb weight on the 3 door 2.0TDI is listed as 1370kg (3020lbs). If you have DSG, that will add a few pounds up front too. A manual transmission 3 door 2.0T (non-QTR) appears to have a kerb weight of 1275kg (2810lbs). Without knowing exactly how specced and the source of the info, it's hard to say, but I'm guessing the TDI engine makes up for at least some of it.
Now I don't know the front to rear weight distrution in the 3 door, but the Sportback has 59/41 for the manual, and 60/40 for the DSG. Given the overall length is 65mm longer in the Sportback, that would most likely make the f/r distribution better than the 3 door even if a bit heavier overall (3263lbs for manual).
Time to upgrade your suspension.

Been driving wifes sportback (1.6, very slow) and the handling is massively different to my TDi.
Obviously longer wheelbase & much less weight in the nose making themselves noticed.
Would be insteresting to try the 2.0T in both 2 & 4 door versions & also Quattro / front track, trouble is I might be tempted.

JTD is in the Alfas, but that handling suffers due to the extra weight up front.
Have to build a diesel engine extra heavy duty to handle the extremely high combustion stresses (more than a gas engine). I think many of the latest desgins are alloy, but the older diesel designs use iron blocks which are extremely tough, but also very heavy.
