Wet weather problem fix for exhaust on A3 TQ and S3

I had my car serviced today at my local dealer and they have told me that a revised part is now available for the eaxhaust system on my A3 TQ which is supposed to "fix" the exhaust banging on the underside of the car when it gets wet and hot. Typically this is found when driving through roadside puddles in the dry, the car feels like it's miss-firing but actually it's the exhaust banging on the underside cross members. Right under the drivers seat for added resonance...!
S3 and 1.8TQ owners should perhaps call their dealers.
Interestingly the same dealer new nothing about the supposed/reported drop in S3 prices in the UK..!

This was discussed below but no-one so far has had any joy from any Audi dealers.

Greg,
Sorry no details as of the moment, I'll see what I can get from my dealer. (Only their performance technician was even aware of the problem let alone the fix!)
For what it's worth my car was delivered to me in March 2000, and as I had a sunroof added to the spec I guess it was built not much before that. It's definitely a model year 2000 car.

I reported the water problem to Audi last August 99 and have already had the parts fitted that are supposed to cure it? They don't!
From August to February Audi had my car for 12 weeks for testing to find the cause of the water noise. I was telephoned on February 29 by the Audi technician who was in charge of the tests, he told me that water was getting into the air intake and blocking the filter and this was the basic cause of the noise and associated power loss.
Audi have also denied that there are any other people who are having problems with water

I too suffered the same problem, makes my coins in the holder next to the handbrake vibrate!!! Had the 'mod' (centre exhaust section) fitted 3weeks ago after having to tell them myself about a previous posting on here. After heavy rain yesterday, noise reoccured, vibration all around handbrake area etc.
Where do i go from here, i want action!!
