The engine code for your vehicle is listed on the sticker in the Manintenance manual.
For the A3, there are 6 different engine codes:
2.0TFSI:
AXX -- original 2.0T FSI engine
BPY -- used in 2005-2008 A3 and 2006+ GTI
CBFA -- new 2.0T TSI engine, 2008+ -- SULEV
CCTA -- new 2.0T TSI engine, 2008+ -- ULEV
3.2 VR6:
BUB -- standard VR6 2005-2008
CBRA -- VR6 2008+
2.0TFSI:
