Default NGK Laser Platinums are excellent.

I'm chipped but running stock plugs. However, I recently changed the plugs in the wife's Passat at over 83k miles. The original plugs were the same NGK laser platinum plugs but with VW/Audi labelling. These plugs with 83k miles on them had the exact same gap as the replacements. It looked like they could easily go another 83k miles.

P.S. I used to use Bosch Platinum +4 in my cars but I read that some VW's have problems with them because the spark isn't in the "flow" of fuel and can misfire. Sounds like something to avoid since the FSI engine has very specific flow patterns within the combustion chamber.

Default NGK BKR7EIX. Go to your advance auto parts store . . . $7 a plug.

Don't bother switching until you're chipped.
