They change the price based on political favors and strategizing, not supply. For example, the Saudis temporarily lowered their prices in the months before the 2000 US election as a favor for Dubya... look it up...

Again, I don't like paying the prices either but I do. It is still supply and demand. Start finding alternative energy sources or reduce foreign oil dependance. Hence more supply and the price goes down. Even if OPEC is monoplistic supply and demand still applies...
