...when the leading supplier is a completely opaque (not to mention violent and corrupt) theocracy. They don't even release their supply figures. They change the price based on political favors and strategizing, not supply. For example, the Saudis temporarily lowered their prices in the months before the 2000 US election as a favor for Dubya... look it up...

I will sell a product for $20 when I can get $40 and sell the same ammount. I don't want to hurt people's feelings.
Again, I don't like paying the prices either but I do. It is still supply and demand. Start finding alternative energy sources or reduce foreign oil dependance. Hence more supply and the price goes down. Even if OPEC is monoplistic supply and demand still applies...
