While driving in a very light freezing rain, I had a hard time keeping the windshield from icing up. No matter which combination of defrost or heat settings I tried, the upper center portion of the windshield would develop a thin coating of ice. I had the heat way up and the fan going full blast. The only thing that worked was frequent use of windshield washer. But even that would only last a few minutes. Very disappointing, especially for a quattro snow car. I haven't experienced that sort of thing since my old VW beetle. Anyone else experience this problem.

Drove in light drizzle at 17 degree temps (how can that be?) and ended up with just the area in front of the driver and passenger available for visibility. Had defroster on full blast. Really surprised me. I almost bought the Legacy which has a nice hot wire planted in the area of the wiper when it is in the rest position, to melt ice actually on the wiper. Wish Audi had this as my wipers froze up on that same trip, which was from Michigan to Chicago during the storm this week. Seemed to be mostly on fast sections (50 plus) but still, surprising.
Where is the heater for the fluid and how hot does the fluid get? My car also does not have a warning lamp for low fluid, so I was afraid to run out on a bad stretch.

It seems the moisture sensor is in overload with ice on the windshield near the rear view mirror. Regardless of the intermittent setting, they stay on at the fastest spead. Now I just flip the lever manually and leave them off.
I should add this is with the rain sensing wipers.
