I simply think it's an annoying unnecessary feature...
Just another thing to break on the Audi at 50,000miles. I personally would not spend the $800 that it costs on the A3.

And that is the exact reason why they are not standard...
... because some folks just don't want to pay for what they claim they don't need.
Granted, halogen bulbs light up the road in front of you just fine.

well, if they're so great why aren't they standard equipment?...
Seems to me the fact that they are optional proves the fact that they are not 'the answer' and that many people don't like/want them.
Like I've said, I had them on my B5. I didn't get them on new Boxster...
