Basic US Prices converted to British Prices...
A3 2.0T 5 door = $25460 > GBP14500
A3 3.2 S-Line 5 door = $34700 > GBP19800
S4 Sedan = $46000 > GBP26500
S4 Avant = $48000 > GBP27500
S4 Cab = $55000 > GBP31500
Basic British Prices converted to US Prices...
A3 2.0T 5 door = GBP21500 > $37600
A3 3.2 S-Line 5 door = GBP26690 > $46592
S4 Sedan = GBP37115 > $64791
S4 Avant = GBP38265 > $66800
S4 Cab = GBP42980 > $75030
I think I wanna live in the US now! In that case I could quite easily afforded an S4 :-) not to mention the fuel everyday. Last time I went to the US, I got a full tank of fuel for only 18 pounds (31 Dollars) to fill this 3.2L V6 SUV. If I had that same SUV here in the UK it would have costed me at least 60 pounds (104 Dollars). CRAZZY PRICES!

What would be the "average" salary for an A3 owner? I mean, money is relative, so if we take home, as example, 25460 units of US money per year here in the States (base A3 price), it would be equivilant of you chaps making 21500 units of UK (base A3 price in UK)money per year in the UK.
I don't think that ratio is really true and everything costs you more money, so how can you afford anything more than a rusted Morris Minor anyway???

they would not sell a single unit.. what the market is here.. to many cheap alturnatives. At some point value surpasses features and quality.
I would not have bought an A3 for 35K base. I would have bought something else.

U.S. prices don't include sales tax, for instance. Also our fuel and property taxes are different.

If there is an auto tax structure that sucks it's ours! Here is what I paid for my Audi A3 Sport DSG here in Puerto Rico.
US MSRP $28,740.00
US MSRP + PR TAX = $35,706.00
$6,966.00 in taxes!
Anything over $44,000 pays 40% tax!!!
But that doesn't stop a couple of people from ordering the RS4 at $110,000!!!
It's not fair but on the other hand we have very low property taxes and we don't pay federal taxes(no taxation without representation) so I guess we don't have it that bad after all.
