Audi A3 2017 rear camera

Hi guys,
I am thinking about playing around with my rear camera signal on my 2017 A3 and I hope some of you had some experience with audi's stock rear camera. Here are my questions:

What signal does the rear camera use? Does it use composite video? If it does, then i can add a relay triggered by the rear light and add a front camera that was never intended for a3. When the reversing lights are on, the display shows the rear camera, when they are off and the speed is still below threshold it will switch to the front camera. What do you think about that?
Is there a way to trick the MMI to display the rear camera on demand?

im not sure I fully understand your questions about “tricking the camera on demand”, but at speeds below the threshold, if you push the parking sensor button, the rear camera will display. Push it again and it turns off.

Yes, that is normal operation. What I would like is to trigger the camera on demand at any speed. Does the camera module provide the video feed all the time or is it powered only when needed. Does video sensing cause the mmi to switch to camera input perhaps. Just looking for an angle to hack.
