Driving cross country as a previous post stated (asking about car protection), I-40 corridor all the way across. Making a pit stop at the hoover dam and grand canyon. Scheduled stops in Oklahoma city and Nashville to see family (Thunder game also!). Any other sites/recommendations on the way I should stop and see?

It depends on how much time you have. If you can spare a couple days, I highly recommend the national parks in southern Utah. All 5 are amazing, but Zion and Bryce Canyon are closer to I-40. Santa Fe is also a great town, although it's also a little bit off I-40. Brunch at Pasqual's is heavenly.

I would hit up Santa Fe for an afternoon and the steak house in Amarillo. It's a nice drive, my wife and I did on a motorcycle a couple of years ago.

Woooo. Zion Canyon is really good. I loved Monument Valley too.
