I feel too old for an S3

I'm in my early 40's. Went out to dealership to trade in my A4 on an S3 but couldn't get over the feeling that this car is meant for someone in their late 20' or 30's. Even though I could get my kids in the back seat, it kinda looks like a younger persons car. Maybe that's why I've only seen one one the road ever. I'm hoping I love the next S4 when it comes out next year, because if not, I have no idea what my next car would be.

I'm 31, just 5'8" and the A3 fits me just right.
If you already have an A4 why not go A6 as an upgrade as you are getting older.
If I was in my 40s right now I wouldn't look at anything lower than the A5 and that's if I had no kids. With kids A6 +.
Personally I feel the A3 (S3) and it's design ques was like it was cut from the same cloth that made the A6 and A8.
A4 and A5 presently look too old to consider and you'll have to wait to 2017 till that model finally comes State side.

… and its great to have choices. I am creeping up on 60 and have had 30 cars/trucks. If you are thinking your age determines your car choice, then image is an important factor with respect to your choice and that's fine. I have always been into performance and spirited driving and have chosen the smallest car that I can get away with for better handling and responsiveness. I have had two A6's and enjoyed them both, but they pale next to the S Cars, TT and R32. My current RS5 is a hoot. I am 6'4", so the S3 is a tight squeeze, but it is a joy to drive. That platform is essentially mechanical triplets with the VW R, The TTs and the S3. Each have unique advantages.

Im 40 and look forward to an S3 there just in nothing out there that has my interest as an everyday car! My second car is a GT3 and my son who is 6 cannot safely ride in it! Looked at RS7 and S6 they were just to big, and I am so sick of my X5M i have now it feels like a boat! I cannot wait to be in a fun S3! one of the best cars I've ever owned was an 2008 HPA R32.

Don't think the S3 is priced for the late 20's early 30's demographic. I'm 49, The only other S3's I've seen driven was by a man that looked to be in his 50's and a female in her mid 30's.

I admit Dutch, I feel this way some time when I drive it (i'm 40s too). Sat in an S6 and it felt a lot more age appropriate for me but also a LOT more $$$.
When you drive the S3, the feeling really goes away, I remember the dimensions are the same as my 2001 A4, its also a $50k car… that helps too. ;0)
But keep in-mind that you'll feel this way at times… I LOVE the car, best Audi I've ever owned, but feel this way sometimes.
