Recent buyer of a '15 Audi A3 that I'm working on and realized that when I push the Nav button, it tells me that Nav isnt installed.

How does one go about doing this?

Am in no rush as I have nav from my Google Pixel but was hoping to get it installed.

You would have to change the Screen and the MMI in the glove box to get nav.

For $1,200.00 is not an option for me either. My Pixel is good and I'd have to replace the entire console and unit.

They should have just made a chip for it......

It's just weird that all pre FL A3 has a nav button but not all of them has Nav. I think the FL ones some of them do carry 'car' instead of 'nav' button.

They don't have Nav because the dealers likely just received (well ordered) bare bone base A3s.

I remember in 2014 when I went to look at an A3 in person, I got in one of the show cars and pressed that button and saw Nav not installed, and knew right then and there that my A3 was going to have to have nearly every option.

It's a bit bull**** that I have the button but no nav and it's simply not a software update but a rather a whole MMI unit. But hey my android solved that problem so no fuss no muss.

The NAV button doesn't bother me nearly as much as 7 blank buttons across the dash. I have ECS off and screen down. The rest are blank buttons.

I actually dont mind that bit at all. Cant imagine what those seven slots would be filled with.

Sure there is a way to make them functional. About to drop some cash into this.

Should be a fun project. If painting or wrapping didnt cost so much I'm sure I would do that as well.

Much cheaper than modifying a motorbike.
