i'm getting some feint clicking noises from that area when driving. if i put some pressure on it, the noise doesn't go away. when i put the screen down, it goes away. anyone with RS3, A3, S3, have the same issue?
i've got 700km on the odo.

Problem solved - no more rattling/clicking...except now that little door that closes when the screen retracts into the dash doesn't fully close. Dealer didn't know why that particular component was broken, so they ordered another MMI screen (from Germany).
After a month of waiting, I'm bringing the car back to the dealer tomorrow to have the MMI screen replaced again. In the month I've had the first replacement screen, there has been no clicking/rattling so a new screen will fix that problem.

I have a 2015 S3 with the same issue - sounded to me like plastic flexing. Dealer said the noise was not normal (obviously) and replaced the MMI screen. That solved the noise problem, but created a new one - the plastic cover that closes when the screen retracts into the dash doesn't fully close with the new screen installed. So the dealer ordered a new MMI screen and they're redoing the repair. No explanation why the screen clicked/rattled in the first place.

no, don't have adaptive cruise or any of the active assists. just the base blind spot monitoring and pre-sense basic.

I have no similar issue with my 2016 A3. I thought I had an issue like this for about a week or so. Turns out one of the suction cup on my sunpass came loose and that was causing the sound! ![Embarrassment](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/redface.gif)
Maybe/hopefully, its something else...
