S3 peeps, thinking about an S4 in '17?

We are considering the S3...
Our last suite of Audis have been an S5/S4/S5/RS5… my wife currently drives the S4 and she is a dedicated canyon carver on weekends. We are eyeing the S3 as it is lighter and more tossable in the mountains. She is 5'2" and the S3 fits her well. I can drive it too and it reminds us or our previous Golf R (upon who's chassis both the S3 and TTS spring). However, that means a rethink of my RS5 with its rather inaccessible back seat. I am eyeing the S6, but it will suffer a bit in the mountain twisties.
The S4 has a different feel - sounds are more isolated and the low rev torque from the supercharged 3.0 Liter six is wonderful. With the current incentives for the S4, your lease can be south of $600/month which cuts in within $100 or less to the S3. If you are going to stay with the S3 chassis, be sure to try the Golf R as you get the same performance goodies at a much lower price - especially given VW's need to move cars.
Happy Motoring

and that is exactly why I don't think that grill is anything to write home about.

I totally agree with all the S3 positive remarks in this thread. The car is awesome with a capital A. I simply love it. Currently I have WAY too much extra coin invested in the car to even consider trading or selling for some years so even if I felt the urge to move to a S4, I would never recover the time and money spent on my S3 mods. And the mods are not all go fast related. Things like clear bra'd the entire front end, A pillars & roof edge and rocker panels. That along with paint treatment for the rest of the car. APR Stage I ECU tune, APR intake and APR oil catch can. Wheel spacers and aluminum skid plate from ECS tuning. Those are the big ticket items. They protect my car, my investment in driving pleasure. Well worth it to me.
I'm also not totally sold on the front end of the A4/S4 either. Angles are too sharp somehow. But it looks like the sharp edges will appear on the full Audi line soon. Already shows on the new TT and R8. However I certainly would not decline either if they were given to me! LOL
