About a month late, but finally getting around to posting some photos of my RS3 in Turbo Blue. Can't take credit for the glamour shots - they were taken by the shop that did PPF + Ceramic (bonus: an R8 Spyder was getting wrapped at the same time and made it into a couple of shots).
So far the car is great - I'm following the break in procedure strictly so haven't really opened things up, but it's a great, agile car. Very comfortable in Comfort / Individual mode (actually better than our 2014 A7 despite the low profile tires), and has an intoxicating sound in dynamic. Really liking the color as well - it can range from quite bright to more muted depending on light.
How did you like Capital Wrappers? I'm in the DC area and looking for a PPF installer for when I get my RS3.
They did a really great job (as best I can discern - I guess time will tell). The PPF application was very clean with everything tucked behind the panels - to the point I had to get on my hands and knees and get up within six inches of the end of the panel to tell whether the car was even PPFed. Tint was very clean as well. I also appreciated the guy (Yurii) was super responsive - generally responded to my emails within an hour or two. Offered a weekend pickup which was convenient for me due to travel.
They are also pretty reasonably priced - I also got a quote from All American Paint Protection and Capital Wrappers came out $900 less for Front PPF + Ceramic Coating + Tint.
So I was really happy with them, but my caveat would be it's early days so hard to assess durability, and I don't have a ton of points of comparison.
Amazing pics! The longer focal length really helps show this car's design as intended. Most quick iPhone shots are too wide and lead to a distorted/bulbous look that isn't true to life.
In case anyone was wondering about tracking their RS3, I took mine to VIR this past weekend for an Audi Club HPDE. Car was stock except for high temp brake fluid.
The car performed great! Has a ton of horsepower on the straights - kept up with an RS5 and 997 Carrera S on the straights. Understeer is very muted thanks to the rear diff. The stock tires and pads show their limits compared to track pads and R-compound tires, but the brakes held up great through seven 25-minute sessions even thought each lap had three heavy braking zones (140-50).
Fantastic shots!!! TopGear has a 22' Turbo Blue RS3 in the running for Performance Car of the Year. Might be a stretch when put up against some of the others, but very cool to see!
