Got it done... the front badge and the rings were such a pain in the butt... I opened up the radiator cover and tried to preserve the ring and make things easier. Well, I would say that without opening the cover, it would have been impossible for me to do anything... LOL Even then, I broke the tabs on the ring. The badge was very very difficult to remove (I guess that is the point, so it cannot be stolen that easily.) The rear ones were pretty easy, but yes, I do think you need to use fish line because the floss that I was using kept breaking.

Clean and tape the areas around the work before you start, because now my piano black grill has fine scratches from even my finger...

Great writeup, does anyone have the parts list for the B9 coupe, the list provided was for the SB and many of the parts are different for the RS5 coupe.

THE PARTS
Black RS5 Side Badges were ordered from Audi New Orleans Parts Online. This I found offered the best pricng available vs what others offer (TAG, Europrice, etc). Beware and shop around as there are many Audi online parts sales that offer good discounts and shipping vs some of the more known vendors on the forums. Some in particular I found marked up their parts between 50-200% if shipping is included and I can say that I avoided that (will defer from naming anyone but do your homework guys/gals!)

Does anyone have the part numbers for an S5, rather than the RS 5 parts listed here? This post and thread are fantastic, by the way.

Also, the first video makes it look like the front rings come right off with no damage, but I haven't seen anyone report that this is remotely true. What's the disconnect?

2021 B9.5 RS5 grille badge install, without removing the bumper cover. remove engine shroud over radiators. small hands can get behind the grille to place tape behind the badge backing plate. this is a must, or you’ll loose it. pry the badge out enough so you can see the clip holding it in, and use a tiny screwdriver to release the clip. was pretty simple.

different part number for B9.5

wife was able to sneak her hand in to tape the backing plate so it wouldn’t fall down. which it definitely would have, had we not done this.

15 minutes, done!
