Can any long term users of the ebay harness chime in? Codes thrown, or other issues?

I like this idea/execution of more of an oem style solution to disable autostartstop.

Thanks!

Ordered the part from AliExpress, the part shipped within 5 hours after ordering and included a tracking number. Shipping time is 20 to 38 days, if longer than 38 days the part is free!

Good thought. I bet you’re right. I have to remember that in modern cars everything is just CAN bus signals. Just add another node in the box to send out a one-time command.

We were even manipulating CANbus commands back 15+ years ago in B5 S4’s to change the Navi instructions to the inst cluster.

In just 20 days if shipping goes smoothly, I won't ever have to press the f#$&*ing *** button again. I'm sure it will be a long twenty days.

Tomorrow would be 1 month since my installation.

No issues at all, not even a rattle. The module does come with an adhesive backing and I did not tape it anywhere because it would be impossible to even reach my finger in there or remove it if I wanted to.

I leave the climate control in Auto mode nearly all the time, with AC On. It works beautifully, for me. Set it and forget it. Maybe if I'm out with the windows down I'll switch the AC off, but not even every time. I'm genuinely curious why people seem to be going around switching the AC on and off? Are you trying to maximize fuel economy? Be greener? At the track (in which case *** wouldn't seem to be an issue)? Just wondering, not judging.

The most pertinent reason is the climate I live in, AC is only used during the summer. It hardly ever rains here, so the AC is not used much to defog the windows. During winter it is very dry here, so the heater takes care of any moisture on the interior glass. Other reasons are parasitic drain on the engine and wear on the compressor.

Sounds great, hope you get it sooner. I'm at the: (2020.09.02 10:05 (GMT-7): Started customs clearance process) part of shipping. Maybe getting the part on an airline is next?
