So I want to confirm how our interior "dome" lights are supposed to behave when you open a door.
I have switched the button with a (car with a door symbol) in the upper center console near the sunroof switch both on and off. In both positions I can't seem to get my dome lights to turn on upon opening a door.
Can anyone shed light on this? See what I did there....🙂
Thanks

Do the front interior lights come on when you use the keyfob to unlock the doors? Do those same lights work by touching the corresponding button in the overhead console?

Yes, if I touch the two round lights at the forward edge of the upper console they illuminate and dim when held etc.
I just want them to illuminate the cabin at night when I open a door.

Could be a sticky or dirty switch. Does the LED by the switch turn on when you press the button - mine does. Try spraying some electrical contact cleaner into the switch and press multiple times; that might clean things up. If still not working, you should scan for error codes - the module controlling that function might show an error condition.

My red led toggles on and off when the button is pressed.
I did code in odbeleven to have both lights come on whem the door opens. Perhaps the coding got messed up.
No error codes except subwoofer open circuit code because I added an amp and sub.

If the problem occurred right after you made the odbeleven change then it's quite likely coding messed up; return things back to their original values and try again.

I also had problems with not all the interior lights coming on no matter which door was opened.
With the following VCDS coding it fits now: CTRL 09 > Coding > Byte 10 > Bit 0 ("light_scenario,active") disable

It illuminated the light closest to the door open so I coded via the built in apps in odbeleven to turn on all lights with door open. After this was coded no interior light illuminated when a door was opened.
So I just left it coded to turn on the light closest to the door that's open.
