So I noticed the Q7 has an illuminated overhead console and I wanted to try to retrofit it to my car. They also have cool little illuminated accent rings around the interior spot lights. So I ordered a Q7 console and proceeded to tear it a part!

It has a smoked clear plastic center where ours are piano black. The Q7 console circuit board has 8 more Leds soldered to it to illuminate this plastic diffuser.

It seems to work great now that I sorted the coding issue I had. The coding issue caused the same issue with the original console it wasn't related to the Q7 electronics.

Enjoy the pics!

Pretty nice mod you did, one other thing, you have the nicest collection of screwdrivers I've ever seen, like the work bench too, who is makes that?

Ha yeah to many screwdrivers, although the lower blue ones are torx drivers. The cabinets are made by NewAge but I made the TV back splash panel and cut some 1/2 inch recycled tire gym mat rubber to cover the metal bench top.

For the q7 overhead panel mod, is the straight swap plug and play? Any coding is needed, or fault codes? Thx

I guess our topic is a little different after all. With me it was so that when I opened a door, only its associated light came on. Now it's like this, no matter which door is opened, the associated lights of all doors go on.

For this Byte 10, Bit 0 had to be disabled (screenshot done before)

I have a emergency sos call error I need to clear because I left the battery connected when I unplugged everything. I haven't had a chance to reset the module under the rear seat yet but after I do I will follow up.

Is there a way you can send me the link to the one you purchased?
I have found several, but NONE of them look like they are clear and light the way yours does...
I want to ensure I purchase the correct unit...

Thanks man!
