Autoblog is reporting that it believes that both the A5 and S5 will offer manual transmissions. If that is the case, this is a VERY pleasant shock to me

The latest edition of Car and Driver tested the new A4, and the article says a 6-speed manual will be available later in the year. I would think this would also apply to the 5?

I guess it won't show up in the US until next year as a 2018 since Audi US announced all the changes for 2017 models a couple of days ago, https://www.audiusa.com/newsroom/new...017-model-year

There was a timeline 'leak' that was posted some time ago which showed the 2018 A/S5 being introduced in the US in the spring of 2017. This press release seems to confirm that timeline (at least about the 2017 being a carryover)

Interesting that for 2017, it appears that there are no changes whatsoever to the S5. All the changes seem to affect the A5.

No, the chart showed the release date for the coupé as March 2017, not Spring 2018. Sportback and cabriolet follow 2 months later.

This chart does have the correct accent being used on coupé, so suggests to me it may have been for a Canadian presentation rather than USA. Not sure if that makes any difference.
