And with these words my countdown begins....what do you folks think about how long it will take to arrive in northern California? My original date was May 19, but apparently it could be sooner than that.
Im freakin out!! Cannot wait to have it's wheel in my grip!

If so, it will be about three weeks time then when it arrives at the Port of SD - it will take anywhere from a few days to a week before it leaves on a truck to your dealer.

Dont have any specifics yet, but I'll probably bug my dealer soon. He said he'd give me an update on the delivery ETA as soon as he gets word on when it is loaded on to the ship.

My A5 was loaded on the ship around Feb 15-20, arrived at dealer (in Henderson NV, via port in San Diego) on March 17.
Well worth the wait. I gave a deposit to get in line July 2007, actual ordered submitted November 2007. My new quartz gray baby arrived a couple of weeks premature of a full nine-month term!
Congrats on your impending arrival. You'll love it!

my experience with Audi so far -- salesman (Joe Sirna), dealer (Audi Henderson), AND Audi corporate (I had a potential accessibility issue in the car which put me in touch with corporate) -- has been nothing but positive. This is my first Audi and I have been extremely impressed by the professionalism, responsiveness and directness of all of the above.
Oh, and I love the car!

Same here. My dealer (M.F.) is in Elk Grove, CA, and so far the whole experience has been smooth and relatively painless. I did get lucky, as my original order date was February 08, but a December07 buyer canceled, and I was able to take the allocation. So, normally, Id still be waiting. But I at least have an honest dealer who keeps me informed when important points come up (build date issued, ready for shipping, etc.) I don't bother him a lot, since he has better things to do than wait on me. So far, everything he has told me from the start has been accurate, including the expected delivery date, which was originally mid-May, and later updated to May 19. It will be updated again when the ship is loaded for take off to the US.
