For some of us oldsters on this forum, I had to laugh. "Back in the day", the ordering process was a lot longer. I ordered my A5 on February 15, 2008, and it was finally delivered October 25, 2008. Just like a new baby. Went from one model year to the next with options/standard equipment changes, etc. Pass the time by hoping that your current car doesn't require $$$ to keep it going. My S4 with 125,000+ miles needed about $3,000 of repairs (oxygen sensor, turbo fans, cat converters, etc.) just 6 weeks before the new one arrived. Was it worth the wait? A resounding yes. Best car I've ever owned or driven. Just wish I didn't have 46,000 miles on it already.

Suggest that you follow the beer advice, with occasional trips to the Audi showroom to sit in the ones you won't get so you can get even more antsy about the one you will.
