i have a 2010 audi s5 dsg 7 speed trans if my mechatronic unit were to go out as i was driving will it not only lock the trans but also my brakes for a safety precaution

? The post is in the correct forum for the type 8T (B8 A5), this forum. That link is to the forum for the S model of the type 8K (B8 A4). Why the board has separate A vs S forums for the A4 but not for the A5, never understood. Nor why there's that parent forum for the A5 generations which is open to posting.

That said, if he's got a MY10 S5 s-tronic, I presume it's the cabriolet? I with the A5 posters would always clarify if they are talking coupe, cabriolet, or sportback.

As to the OP's question, not entirely sure what's being asked.
