Default 2010 Prices Paid

Just wondering, how much have you guys paid for your 2010 A5? The best deal i could get was $818 over invoice. Invoice is $38351 for a Prem+, 6 speed, B&O. The price i was offered was $39169, and the lease deal they offered me was $4369 down, $599 a month including tax on a 42 month 12k/year lease, Audi Care included.

FYI, residual is 50% with Audi Care and the money factor is 0.00228. Sales tax in my area is 6.5%

What if you don't want a lease deal. Do prices change?

Also, is it a car on the lot, or one that you ordered?

No, its pretty much the same whether i lease or finance the car. Also, I did not order the car it is one that is already in the port right now in Brunswick, Georgia

$800 over invoice sounds like a fair deal. If I were you though I would put a bit less down and accept a slightly higher monthly payment - I know that money factor isn't the best but that's still a lot to put down up front.

If I use the lease calculator at http://www.leaseguide.com/calc.htm I'd end up with $518 including sales tax ($640 without down payment). But I think you probably excluded destination charge and potentially some other extra costs?

For leases longer than 36 months you might consider buying as well. Unless you know 100% sure you're not going to keep the vehicle.

Sorry lucien i forgot to mention that the 39169 was just the negotiated price, not including audi care, doc fee, acquisition fee, and registration fee, so when i did it it actually came out to 612.82 per month, but still imho for a lease its way too expensive

What was the base money factor you were given? What was the residual they quoted you? Are you in a state where you have to pay all taxes upfront?

$4600+ down on a leased vehicle?!?!? You never put down money down upfront on a leased vehicle as a capitalized cost reduction! That's a big no-no 99.95% of the time.

You also do not have to go through Audi of America for your lease financing if they are giving you a bad MF. Just because you lease and don't finance, doesn't mean you need to use their services. I would shop around a little.

Since i plan to get audi care, the residual for 36 months is 54%, 42 months is 50% even. The money factor they qouted me was .00228 for 42 months, and 0.00208 for 36 months. I live in florida, so no taxes do not need to be paid up front. Out of the 4369 due upfront, 2000 of that is cap cost reduction, and the rest is audi care, acquisition fee, doc fee, and registration.

Alright....$2,000 for cap cost isn't the worst thing ever, though from a pure financial standpoint it's a little silly. I understand why people do it though from a psychological standpoint.

The deal doesn't sound too horrible just doing some quick math in my head. Seems pretty fair.

Does Audi care + acquisition fee + doc fee + and registration really amount to $2369?

The destination charge is $825 and I think the Audi care is about $550. So what is the other big fee? Registration should not be much.
