On January 15th, I placed an order for a 2011 A5 Automatic Coupe, Brilliant Black, Premium Plus, B&O, Titanium Package. I was told the order went into the factory's order back on February 14. I never received a commission number. So February came and went. Then March. I contacted my dealer, but there was no update. By this time, I started to see the posts that the Titanium Package was discontinued for the 2011 models.
Once April got here, there was still no update, so he escalated it to his manager who escalated it to his regional manager. She finally got the news that I already suspected that the Ti Pkg for 2011 was discontinued. They offered to expedite me another A5 without the Ti Pkg but I declined because the package was a major selling point for me.
So today I went back to the dealership to figure out what I was going to do. I ended up putting an order in for a 2012 A5. I upgraded to the Prestige Package along with the S-Line Package which now contains the Titanium Package features. I was also happy to be able to get the Phantom Black Pearl Effect paint on the 2012 vs the normal Brilliant Black.
So now, the important part... pricing. I was already receiving the Audi Supplier Discount of 6% off MSRP. My salesman's manager then offered me an additional $1000 off, and that they would work with their regional manager to expedite my order to ensure it would arrive in the first order run they receive. It's a little scary ordering the car without knowing the price, but I feel I'm getting a very good and fair deal that will equate to around 8% off MSRP which must be near dealer invoice.
So they gave me a tentative ETA of late July/early August. I was told it is possible that pricing may not be available until later in the summer, very close to when the car is set to actually arrive. I will keep everyone updated as my order progresses.

Thanks for your info. I'm about getting the new 2012 A5 coupe since my dealer told me that the order for A5 2011 have been stopped.
But I'm so afraid of ordering the car without knowing the price as you are. In my case, my dealer can't say anything about the price and any discount right now.
One more thing, I do have to deposit $2000 for my order. but still don't know what the price is !!!
Do you guys think should I order it right now? Since I really need a car about this August....

My dealer tried to pull the same stunt with the $2000 deposit. I replied and told them i would put down no more that $500. They were fine with that and i recommend you do the same in case you are faced with issues.

Should I place an order without knowing a price ? Isn't it crazy ???
Moreover, I don't get any guarantee discount like 4wrestling got....
Anyway, usually, how long does it take for getting a car after ordering it? I'm think about ordering it when the price is out.
Do you guys have any suggestion for me?
Thanks

My dealer said the 2010 to 2011 price increase was 1.2% overall, and they expect the same this year. Of course, you never know until the actual pricing is released.
Average time from when you place the order at the dealership until the car actually arrive is around 3 months, maybe a little shorter on the east coast or longer on the west coast. Of course, this could be affected by order volume or some other unforeseen factor like what happened to me.

I have a 2009 A5 ordered in May, 2008 and arrived August, 2008. Am now thinking of a 2012 S5, but my dealer (ND) does not have an order guide yet. Any chance those of you who have one/seen one could e mail or post?
