2012 A5 Back-up Camera Chip
My A5 was delivered on Sept. 3rd. My dealer now says the chip won't be available until Feb. Anybody have any additional experience?

I know this may not help, but my dealer informed me that any A5's built for the week of September 26th forward will have the chip installed at the factory.
You would think this would reduce the amount of cars that would otherwise be on the waiting list for one, and therefore move the availability up, not back.

No camera, no chip later down the road.
I had ordered the car from the factory (2012 S5 Cabriolet Premium) and they told me "not available" and if I wanted it the car would be delayed about 4 months. I ended up getting it without.

My 2012 A5 should be in in two weeks, I expect it to have the camera, I certainly paid for it! In Canada, the camera and sensors are an add on to the Nav package, I don't think it was explained well to the dealers, mine almost missed it. It's a pricey upgrade, but I figured I might as well go all in. I'll let you know when I get the car.

Picked up my A5 on 10/10 and it had the back-up camera already installed and working too. Came as a surprise to me, but I'm happy I don't have to go back for it early next year.

a friend has a 2011 A4 that didn't have the working camera. I asked our mutual sales rep about it just a couple days ago and he said that notices should be going out for the high end models in November and the lower end cars like A4s and A5s should be December.
