2012 - A5 - Monsoon Grey - Premium - SLINE - MISSISSAUGA / TORONTO (SEPT 30th, 2011)

Dear Audi Fanatics,

I havent yet provided a down payment or signed for the car. However I am slated to pick up and pay on delivery. At this point it I am strongly thinking of buying this car.

It is my first vehicle purchase.

My question(s):

(a) Does this model have MMI (read on the A5 Product PDF that it does).. ? .. I didnt get navi on it ..as I don't need it

(b) Winter Tires ? - Where would you recommend I purchase them from ? --- I was thinking of 18" --

(c) Will I be able to get Audi A5 rims for winter tires as well ?

(d) IPOD - I do understand in the glove compartment there is ipod integration --- Im assuming the cable comes with it ?

(e) Warranties - I am planning on getting 750$ audi care package - any insight on other pacakges that you may recommend ?

(f) Any other feedback that you may have ... ?

Thanks

a) Yes it has MMI, but the screen resolution is lower than when equipped with Nav.
b) Tire Rack; rim & tire set comes already Hunter road-force balanced.
c) Better off with an aftermarket rim (less expensive). 18" in Winter is a good idea tho', as is no larger than 245x40x18 dedicated snow tires.
d) Yes, if it has iPod integration the cable is provided.
e) AudiCare is plenty.
f) Nice choice. Enjoy!!!

Bridgestone Blizzak WS70's are really good tires, especially in deep snow. They aren't a performance winter tire, but will give you much more traction when the roads have any snow on them. I just got mine in the mail from Tirerack the other day. They also include a $50 Amex gift card when you purchase a set of 4 before Sep 30th.

If you wanted to go with a more performance oriented tires, Michelin's Pilot Alpin PA3 is currently listed as their #1 rated winter tire based on the surveys.

Yes, I prefer Michelin Alpin specifically for snow tires. Pricey but you get what you pay for in confident grip and quiet operation in all Wintry climes.

Guess Im asking too many questions here...so does having MMI mean that the system will tell me the Engine Oil levels etc., ... ?

Yes, you'll get the oil level indications, etc. (although I still picked up a dipstick, just to be sure).

No harm in asking questions, you are understandably excited about your upcoming new ride, which I daresay were we all.
