2012 NAV option - Worth it?
I have ordered my 2012 S4 here in Canada - Dealer does not have allocation yet so not released but...
What I am reconsidering is the Nav option. Here in Canada it is a stand-alone option (not part of the USA's prestige pack). The backup camera is not available (not that I wanted it anyways).
So does anyone know exactly what the differences are? I dont need the maps but I hear there are some differences with the hands free and music options.
Help is appreciated - not sure how long until it is too late to change my order.

At least in the US and for the 2011 MY, adding navigation will bring two SDHC slots and HD Radio. It should also enable the Individual option for either the Sports Rear Differential package or the full ADS package.

Go for the Nav
If you can afford it, it's the way to go. Regardless if you're going to use it that much, but in terms of resale, it's going to be a lot harder to get rid of in say 2018 without Nav.

Yes. Get it. For those reasons plus....
.... moves the control **** to center console behind gear shift ****, much more user friendly than up on lower center of dash in front of gear shift ****.

Excellent point. I recently drove a Q5 loaner w/o Nav and its MMI control **** was awkwardly located; no wrist support, but then I'm used to a tracball with my PC.

Canada doesn't get back-up camera with navigation? That's weird...
I love the back-up camera on this car, simply because the rear window is little more than a gun slit of a view. The high rear deck makes seeing out the back very difficult, whether using the mirrors or turning your head and looking over your shoulder. For that reason, I think the back-up camera should be standard on all A5/S5 models. And believe me, I never thought I'd say that because I've had many cars without back-up cams and never thought I needed them. But in this car, it's a big plus.

[QUOTE=Beakerz;24160113]Canada doesn't get back-up camera with navigation? That's weird...QUOTE]
The issue is with the eathquake in Japan - this is the reason why the Nav option is less in 2012 than it was in 2011 here in Canada for the S4. As for the S5 and the backup camera I am not sure if it comes with the NAvi option for 2012
As for the rear deck - I am buying an S4 so the visability is better.
