I've seen quite a few sources say that the 2012 S5 will have a turbo-charged V6 like the cabriolet. But I also found these two links about a possible anniversary edition for model year 2012 and that it could be revealed in a 2010 auto show. I'm not sure what auto show its saying, but I did not see anything about it on the NY auto show site. Also, both links/articles are 9 months old. The picture is an impression from Car and Driver (not Audi) and it mentions possibly going to the same turbo-charged 5 cylinder engine as the TT-RS. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks in advance.

FYI, the S5 cabriolet and sport back have a supercharged (NOT turbocharged) V6 (and the excellent S Tronic direct shift gearbox-or DSG for short-transmission; in every conceivable way other than cost, DSG is far superior to the less expensive Tiptronic). The model year 2012 S5 coupe (which is coming out in late calendar year 2011) will also have the supercharged (again, NOT turbocharged) V6 (and the S Tronic DSG transmission; that terrible dinosaur Tiptronic automatic transmission will finally be gone from the S5 coupe-HALLELUIAH!!!!! to that !!!!!).

I highly doubt that these will be the lines on the production S5's....i can see the S5 move more into the shape (front ends) of the upcoming A7...

I confirmed that this transmission will be in the 2011 S5, and most of the Audi lineup, when i ordered mine a few weeks ago. Here is a link to a BMW article discussing its use in the new 5 series: http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mell...2576C60007114A

ZF and BMW are reporting this tip works as well as the DSG.
