That sounds like they aren't allocated for S5's.

Thanks for the info!

gd10 could correct me but I bet they have them in the "factory order bank" and push them to be built out if a customer orders one AND/OR they switch another car to get allocation. I've noticed that the smaller dealerships don't really keep S5's in stock and when they do, it seems like for months. I've also noticed that the smaller dealerships usually only keep anywhere from 10-15 new cars in stock at a given time.

The larger dealerships seem to only keep white, black, and silver cars with either minimal options or fully loaded. I know that Audi of WIlmington, for example, has a fully loaded S5 Cab Deep Sea Blue/Tuscan fully loaded that they have listed for $74k.....but it still brand new from 2010.

My local dealer is very small. They only keep about 8 new Audi's in stock - mostly A4's.

I contacted a couple of larger dealerships in my region (Louisville, KY and Indianapolis, IN) and they confirmed that 6 months is not correct. It's closer to 3 to 4 months.

Default Order Update

Just heard from my local dealer today. My sales rep. said that they should have my S5 at the dealership on October 17th. I ordered the car on July 18th. Their original estimate of 6 months was a bit off.

If anyone is interested, here's what I ordered:

2012 S5 Premium Plus Coupe
- Monsoon Gray Metallic
- Tuscan Brown interior
- Tiptronic Trans.
- Add Navigation
- Add Bang Olufsen Stereo
- Add Advanced Key
- Add Rear Parking Sensor

Can't wait to see it.

Anybody want to buy a 2010 Acura TL - SH-AWD w/Tech. Pkg.? It's all wheel drive and has a 305hp V6 engine. :-)

He just gave me the delivery date. I didn't even know they could give me a production date. I'll check back with them to see if they have more information.

I've heard you can track the car as it's heading to the US. That would be interesting if it's possible.

Thanks.

Only one dealer between MSP and BIL and that is in FAR. Ordered a 2012 S5 first week in June and have been told by dealer that delivery date is 9/19. Trading in my 2009 A5. Has been a great car and looking forward to the V-8.

Update, dealer says yesterday "...is on the boat..." Suppose that means about 3 weeks to get to ND.

Awesome. Wish mine was "on the boat" already, but I probably have another few weeks to go.

Let us know when it arrives.
