Hey guys!

Any help will be greatly appreciated. So I just got my S5 and my fiance noticed (from outside of the car) a very loud, high-pitched beep when the car starts. It lasts maybe 30s and then stops. I must say, this is not a sound that I have ever come from a car. Its wild as at first I never noticed it. But now I realize that its there every time I start the car. Any ideas as to what it might be?

Is it a Beep, or is it a constant whistle-like noise. If constant, as you describe, it sounds like a vacuum leak on the intake side.

It is a constant Beep (beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep). It's definitely not a whistle and louder toward the back of the car.

I forgot to mention that it is a cabriolet/convertible

I seem to remember that reversing tone comes from a speaker in the rear (unless I am thinking about my old saab). Did you try pulling any codes?

I did but unfortunately, there were none. Let me tell you, that beep is SO high pitched. Its tough to be standing around the car when it is turned on. I can post a video of it later but I doubt people want to hear it.

I think you are going to have to start a process of elimination. You might start by disabling the speakers although it could be some sort of component coil whine from the sound of it. You might be able to do this from the fuse boxes. Hopefully someone more knowledgable might be able to advise on how to do this.

Its not coming from the back of the car but more towards the front. Here's a video ...

Stumped, tbph. It sounds mechanical rather than electrical. Is it louder with the hood open? Might be worth posting that video on the other forum if no answers on here.
