Default 2013 RS5 - First Drive and possible price?

http://www.autoblog.com/2012/03/01/2...-drive-review/

At the end they mention a price of $70,000 USD and since they were invited by Audi for the test drive, that pricing information likely came from them too. Perhaps that makes it more reliable?

$70k would be great! I mean $60k would be better, but that may be dreaming. Enjoy the review.

I've seen $70-75K mentioned at other sites too.

its nice to see this price because I remember car and driver knocking it because of its steering response and its 90k + price tag. this price is much more reasonable

Well I hope the price is better than the "ballpark" figure of $80-85k I heard at the dealer today. Was told orders are being accepted by the end of the month for Sept delivery, no pricing for car or options available yet.

Got to look at the options list on the guy's computer, things standard on the RS4 are now options, but there are some nice $$$ ones like ceramic brakes of course.

Will be down to the dealer to put a deposit on one for sure. I haven't found anything else to replace the RS4, and even this is going to hurt to let it go.

Ceramic brakes are extremely expensive (like $6000 or more) and front pair only.

Wow, that's one box I'll not be checking on the order form!

If it eliminates having to clean brake dust off my wheels every week that alone is worth the price! The added performance is gravy

$70K is a very reasonable base price if true.

$70k is way too low. I would assume that's the base model. Of course there should be less options needed to be added and the final price would be in the low 80k.

in 2007 , the RS4 sedan's US base MSRP of $70K was $22,000 more than the S4's ( $48K) . With a loaded current 2012 S5 specing out at $68K, and assuming Audi increases the 2013 facelift line by $2K ,then $22K above that means you could be looking at up to $92K for a loaded RS5 coupe.

Even if Audi asks "only " a $12-15K MSRP difference vs S5 this time ( who knows ?) , one is still looking at $82-85K , in line with the above dealer's
" ballpark " figure.
