Default 2014 RS5 Rotors

I have a 2014 RS5 with 14,000 miles on it. The brakes started pumping like the ABS brakes were on. It is happening all the time. I took it to the dealer and they told me the rotors are warped and need to be replaced. The pads were at a 9. I do not hammer the brakes in this car and it is driven everyday. Has anyone ever experienced or heard of this problem?

Yes, some RS5 are affected with brake problems as you describe. It seems to always be one that is driven lightly where the brakes don't get a good workout regularly and not get enough heat in the pads to maintain a nice layer of pad material on the rotors. It's also been said that some rotors were damaged during shipment to the factory. MY14 seems to be most affected by the issue. Warped rotors is largely a myth, though. To warp a rotor they would have to get really hot. Most likely you have uneven brake pad deposits that then cause hotspots and vibration on the rotors.

Either substandard rotor material or more likely as superswiss said, crappy brake pads that deposit material on the rotors. If it's not on Warranty don't buy factory pads Go with EBC Yellows (not the Reds) or Hawks. Might be able to clean up the rotors with some emery cloth.
