This makes me really want to switch to the A5.

This blurb came from Audi's press release on 2010 pricing for the A5:
2.0T Premium now offers a lower A5 price point in the market, with a base MY2010 A5 2.0T manual model priced $4,700 lower than the previous MY2009 A5 3.2 manual
I'm guessing the difference in price is more than just the engine, but some decontenting of the base My2010 2.0T versus the MY2009 3.2?

If not, $4,700 is a pretty hefty premium to get the V-6 engine one year earlier.

yes the base 2.0 is decontented. it comes in premium, premium+ and prestige. the 3.2 only comes in premium+ and prestige. so you can't compare a "base" 2.0 to a "base" 3.2 and say its all engine.

Under similar options, how much difference is there between 2.0T A4 vs A5 ?

I think the biggest complication is that with the move to the new package structure for 2010 it's hard to compare a base 2009 car with any trim level of 2010 car.

You can definitely compare a Prem+ 3.2 to a Prem+ 2.0T to see what the price differential is. When the 3.2 pricing comes out the difference will probably end up close to the $3300 it was on the A4.

Can someone explain to me whether the rear backup camera is included in the Prestige package?

It seems that the Nav option includes it when purchased separately. But there is no mention of it in Prestige- just NAV.

Thanks.

No, it's not. If you want to have rear camera with Prestige, you need to order Driver Assist Package(PAD).

So anyone think there will be deals on 2009 A5's sitting on lots (are there many left?) or is it better to get a 2010 A5 (even though it is a lesser engine?)

You may have some room to make a good deal on a 2009 now that the 2010s are starting to roll in.

And of course you can still order the 3.2 for 2010 (unless you want a MT). It all depends on what' you're looking for, though - I think the new MMI is great and is worth waiting for, but if you for example want a 3.2L with an MT you should consider a 2009.

Yes, I would have waited for a 2010 3.2, but I wanted the MT. If you want the MT in the 3.2 you'll have to get a 2009. But I'm not sure there are really that many left that will be optioned the way you want.

If you don't want a 3.2 MT I see no real reason to rush out and get a remaining 2009 except to save a little bit of money. The new MMI is a big advantage to the 2010s IMO.
