Near 1 second 0-60? Huh? Try 0.4 seconds difference between the V6 and 2.0 0-60.
My friend by what ever makes you happy, I'm just saying 2.0t, in a car this large, isn't it time to put childish things away? Give me the big boy engine anyday of the week.

This large? The A5 is 3.1 inches shorter and has a 2.3 inch shorter wheelbase than the A4. It is also lower and only one inch wider than the A4; actually narrower including mirrors measurement (A4 is 79", A5 is 78"). If 2.0 is too small for the A5, then it would seesm to be way too small for the A4, suggesting Audi's bread and butter car is anemic. Iam not sure many would agree.

To each his own, hey you don't have to defend that which you know is right. I say have the 2.0t love it, run it, make yourself happy, I'll just pass on it, and that's ok, it's ok for you, it's just not ok for me, and there is nothing wrong with that in the world. I say give me the big boy engine any day of the week.

And I think of the A4 as a different car, more of a family entry level luxury car. It doesn't look, nor feel like it has a need fo speed, sporting, but I wouldn't call it sporty.

The A5 different animal.

I'm with acadia.

Although, theres a reason why the 2.0T starts at about 35K here in the US. All bark, no bite.

The 3.2 was all downsides to me. It's heavier, less balanced, less fuel efficient, and cost more. There was really no upside. It's slightly faster... After a reflash, negligibly faster.

I came from a TT 3.2 where most of the time I regretted that I couldn't have purchased the 2.0T version with Quattro.

The cars I considered buying were the TT-S (more expensive than the A5 3.2, closer to S5 pricing) or the A5 2.0T. I chose the latter because I wanted something a bit more practical / comfortable because I'm spending more time commuting these days and with passengers. Also I love the looks, I'm a gadget freak, and it was cheaper.

The S5 was never a consideration regardless of price. The V8 is too heavy (particularly front-heavy) and would've taken all the things I didn't like about my V6 TT to the extreme.

If they'd had the new S4 engine (the 3.0T) things would have been different. There's a high chance that would have struck a reasonable balance for me. There's also a high chance that will be in consideration the next time I buy a car.
But 3.0t v6 and 4.2 v8, nearly weigh the same.I can't remember the exact number but it was virtually identical. I could think of other reasons like maybe (gas), but weight wise the 3.0t doesn't offer a real advantage.

while i agree the 3.2 is no doubt faster/more powerful, I picked the 2.0T over 3.2 (i was planning to get the 3.2 before knowing the 2.0T came out!). The fact that its whopping 7k cheaper (in canada, i would have gone for the S5 or something if i was in the States) and its a turbo (i haven't driven one) convinced me this is the car i want.

And i will probably chip it when APR has cracked the 2010 model next year? By chipping I am not trying to say NOW i can race with 3.2 or something, just thought I could maximize some of the 2.0T's potential.

That's my 2 bytes...

I don't know after going from the 1.8t '01 A4 which I had at stage II, APR chip + exhaust, to the my v8 S5, you can't convince me 2 go back, I mean it's night and day, my A4 was fun, and peppy, my S5 downright sounds beastly and is much faster. Sure it's not the 2.0t, but I just can't do it man, I literally love my car. By far the best car I've ever owned, sure, I've only owned 2, but seriously, I'm going on over a year of ownership, and I still go out to the garage to check her out, and just listen to her sweet voice. I mean if I were married and I got that question, save the car, or save the wife, I honestly believe, my answer would not come right away
