it is in the manual 
and it says something like: drive your new car "normally" for the first 1000 miles.
now you have to figure out what I mean with "normally"
anyway, just don't floor it, OK

Keeping the RPM's down for the first 1k miles is the important thing, not the actual velocity. Keep it under say 4k rpm for the first 500 miles and then under 5k rpm up to 1k miles. Also important to vary speed so parts have a chance to break-in together, iow avoid prolonged travel at one set speed. Enjoy!

I ordered a 2012 A5 (USA car) in that color (Amethyst Gray), but I don't yet know whether my special order request (for that color) will be accepted. Hopefully I'll know within a week.
In the USA, Amethyst Gray doesn't seem to be available as a regular production color on any Audi model. Additionally, the "Sportback" A5 is not available in the USA, so mine will be the 2-door model.
I'm also hopeful that the 2012 USA order guides were incorrectly written, because the rear camera is not listed. I was told that I should have an answer on that issue within a week as well.

The rear backup camera is still available for 2012 but now disassociated from the Nav package, iow you can get the backup camera without getting the Nav.

Thats good news. I saw the rear camera listed in the Canadian product guide. But in the USA order guide at my Audi dealer there was no mention of the rear camera. The dealer folks weren't sure whether that was a mistake in the order guide, so they were going to make some calls and let me know.
