i am ready to sell or trade my Q7. other than the pure power, is the S5 worth the extra 10K over a prestige A5? i prefer the A5 colors. i prefer the A5 leather choices. i get the power of the supercharged V6. if the 220 horse turbo 4 is plenty for me, any other good reason to spend the extra $10K?

The two cars have different personalities. The rides are very different. The power of the A5 is excellent. The ride is quite comfortable with the 18" wheels. If you are using the car to commute and cruise around in, the 2.0T is very nice. If your style of driving has you punching the throttle for a thrill, the S5 is the better choice. Drive the 2.0T in the S mode on the transmission if you want a more responsive feel. You will be very surprised. The Prestige has the S-line package if you want a sportier appearance mirroring the S5.

Sounds like you're already sold on the A5 Prestige. Sweet car for sure. As for the S5...
Obviously the powertrain, to include the sweet shifting s-tronic, not available on the A5,
larger brakes, quad exhaust and exclusivity of the "S" badge.

Considered the A5 Premium Plus but chose the S5 because of the better value when the '13 was facelifted. 4K less than '12 S5 with Gas Guzzler tax removed. Althought Napa leather, V8 and 19" wheels were also optional or no longer available. No regrets.

The main difference between the A5 and S5 are power and handling. The available rear sport diff and 4-wheel torque vectoring if equipped with the s-tronic puts the S5 at a different level in terms of handling. If sporty handling is what you are looking for in a car, you'll probably be disappointed with the A5.

Drive both cars and take them through its paces. Only you can say what's important to you in a car.

I traded an A5 for my S5. The S5 puts a much bigger grin on my face every time I push the start button--VERY pleased I upgraded!

I owned 2 C6 Corvettes before the A5. Missed the Vette a bit until I got the S5.

This is a personal decision and the only way to determine whether it is worth the extra $10k to you is to drive them both and decide!

On a personal note, I love the S5 cab and am glad I got it.

to all who replied. if i test and a4 or a5, vs. an s5 or s4, will i get the same idea? no dealing near me has two cabs.
