A5 engines
Does Audi plan to bring any other engines for the A5 to the US? The 3.2 is a good engine but was wondering if they planned on bringing over any others? Also, do you think they may increase the horsepower more then 265.

They have an engine that makes more than 265 hp
It's the 4.2 FSI in the S5. If they bumped up the A5 any more than they have, it would start eating into the performance margin of the S5...and they're not inclined to do that to themselves.

Maybe the 3.0 Diesel?
Which would make sense with the cost of fuel.
Agree that increasing the power on the 3.2 would make it too close to the 4.2L S5. And if they charged a premium for the the 3.2 upgrade, it would also put pricing pretty close the the 4.2 S5.

In two years, the blown 3.0L twin SC will replace the 4.2L in the S5
I wish they would offer the 2.0L turbo in the A5 for the same reason, power and efficiency and the opportunity to upgrade chip.

Actually, the blown 3L V6 will have a single supercharger, not twin superchargers
But you are right about Audi eventually ditching the regularly aspirated petroleum DOHC 32V 4.2L FSI V8 with valve-lift (which has a 7,000 RPM redline and produces 349/354/260 SAE hp/DIN hp/kw @ 6,800 RPM and 325 lbs/ft of torque/440 nm @ 3,500 RPM) currently in the S5 for the (single, not twin) supercharged (no more turbochargers or regular aspiration for the S and RS models for the S4, S5, RS 4 and RS 5 downward; no word on whether the petroleum engines the S and RS models from the S6, S7, RS 6 and RS 7 and up will be supercharged, turbocharged, twin turbocharged or regularly aspirated post C6 and post D3 though the diesel engines in S and RS models from the S6, S7, RS 6 and RS 7 and-if they are ever available on these higher end S and RS models post C6 and post D3, which they most likely but NOT definitely will be-will be twin turbocharged with bio diesel, blue something or something blue and other zero emissions technology or technologies will definitely be twin turbocharged) petroleum DOHC 24V 3L FSI V6 with or without valve-lift (which will have a 7,200 RPM redline and produce 345/350/257 SAE hp/DIN hp/kw from 6,250 to 6,900 RPM and 325 lbs/ft of torque/440 nm from 2,400 to 6,250 RPM). But this engine swap for the S5 will happen in mid or late 2009 for 2010, not anytime in 2010 for 2011.
