So what do people think of the standard A5 non-sport/non-Sline suspension? In particular - how does it compare to the non-sport A4 setup? I drove 2009 A4 with a standard suspension and it was way too soft/floaty for my liking and wheel gap was ridiculous.
I think A5 ride height is fine with non-sport and being a sporty coupe one would think it's firmer then non-sport A4.
I like standard seats just fine, steering wheel and shifter are the same and I definitely do not want 19" wheels.
Now about the steering - there is unconfirm rumour that A4 sport/S-line steering is firmer. Is this the case with A5?
Long story short I want to not order sport package unless the steering/ride is significantly firmer.

For what it's worth, I thought the standard A5 suspension felt a bit floaty on a test drive. To get a sense of what my 2010 would be like with the S-line suspension, I drove a 2009 A4 S-line and that cemented the decision for me. There is a significant difference.
The steering is probably the same, but the floaty suspension seemed to add a slightly looser feel to the steering as well.

Steering is light, suspension is floaty. I wouldn't call it too sporty. I have driven the 328xi often and I must say, although I hate how heavy the steering is and how firm the suspension is, when I do drive on twisty roads, I wish I was in the 328 b/c of the steering ratio as well as heavier and more confident feeling.

Is Drive Select an option on the A5? If so, I think this would remedy your concern. I can tell you that when in Dynamic Mode, the S5 is a whole new beast.

I have the standard suspension w/19' wheels and the ride is firm and handling is great. But sometimes, I wished I had stuck with the standard 18' wheels as I feel ever bump on the road.
