Default Advanced Key question

Hi there,

So, while I wait for my S5 to arrive, I was wondering, if two adv. keys come within range of the car (say, myself and my fiancée both are in the car, both with our keys in our pockets), how does one determine which will be used for the seat memory?

Thanks!

The car sets the seat to the settings of the person who touches the door handle first. Pretty sure it doesnt matter which door just who touches their handle first.

Invalid question.. why would your fiancee even have a key to your car? My wife has her own Q7 and doesn't even know where the keys to my A5 are
I told her I programmed it so that it would only turn on if I had the key in my possession. It's worked so far!

We live in DC, so pretty much don't need a car day to day. This is (or at least, will be) the family car for visiting relatives who live in the suburbs/elsewhere in the Mid-Atlantic, or going to the shore on weekends. Shopping, commuting, seeing friends, we all do by walking or using mass transit. No traffic worries, it works very well.

The cabriolet is replacing Zipcar, a car sharing service we'd been using for the last few years, since I sold my A4.

I feeling particularly dumb, but... how does the car know? Key proximity? (So really, it's first person within a certain radius of a sensor) Or perhaps it's location combined with first door to open, and the sensor can determine direction as well as distance?

Perhaps we have some experimenting to do, when the car arrives :-)

if you have advanced / convenience key, you can store 2 profiles.
which you can select with the buttons in the door.
so, you could store your profile in both keys under #1
and your fiancee's profile in both keys under #2

It is easier to learn about all these features hands-on, with the car and the owner's manual. It is all very self-explainatory once you take delivery of the car.

With they key in your pocket you become an antenna for the key. As soon as you touch the handle you have a semi-direct link between the key and the car.
