Another "just got done test driving the S5"
Very very nice, it was black with black leather interior, aluminum inlays and loaded with every option.
What impressed me the most asides from the beautiful interior, was the handling, it handles better than my S4 but the ride is much more compliant, firm, but not harsh like my S.
Power is pretty much the same as my S, probably a little more but I didn't want to push it as the car only had 49 miles on it. The sound of the engine was great, nice and low and deep, much better than a Stock S4.
Everyone couldn't help but look at the car as I drove by, the LED's in the front are very cool and just a fantastic design, much better than the angel eyes in the bimmers, it gives the car a ton of presence as you are coming down the road.
The seats are not quite as supportive as the Recaro's on my S4 but they are very comfortable and very good looking, love the S5 logos on them.
Trunk space is larger than my S.
I recently test drove a 335i, and yes that car drives very well and has very good power, but the interior (and exterior to some extent) just does not come close to the S5, period! The ergonomics and materials used in the S5 are just one level above the 335, so yes the S5 is more expensive but you are definitely getting what you are paying for if not more...
The car was offered to me for purchase, too bad I am not quite ready yet + the black color is not what I am looking for, otherwise I probably would have ended up driving it home.
All in all just a really nice car.

I got to see the car at Tischer in Silver Spring, MD
It was Dolphin with the red leather interior. My schedule would not permit my driving it today. I will go back for a drive. Sounded great, I agree about the seats, but I did notice that there is no under seat storage. Well I guess that seals it, no S5 for me.......not.
Once the lease on my S4 is near the end, and the Tip is in production I'll know better what I'd like to do.

Ditto. I really liked it. If the lease rates were better I would go for it.
The dealer tells me Audi has a goal of leasing only 20% of its sales within 2 years. Although leasing may have hurt them in the past, this goal with hurt them more IMO.
