If so, what put you over the edge?
after seeing the A5 in person and driving it, I am having second thoughts on the TT.
thanks.

interesting ... I think the mk1 was more "feminine" than the new for sure.
the mk2 has much stronger lines.
that said, the A5 is gorgeous. my only concern is that it is too big for sports car purpose while the TT will be more sporty.
I drove the A5 and still feels like a bigger car no matter how you slice it.
S5 is a different story.

Its obvious disadvantages to me are stated above:
1. No 6 Sp 2.0T, also no quattro 2.0 T even if you settle for a tip!
2. Definitely more *feminine* than the A5
3. For the price of a 3.2 MK2 TT, you can get a well loaded A5 with 60-40 quattro, MMI and B&O sound.
However, the 3.2 TT did have the optional magnetic ride suspension which was of immense interest to me (09 A5 should likely come with "drive select").
All said and done, you're right -- the A5 is more of a grand tourer than an outright sports coupe. Yet, to me it is more car for the money -- handles quite sporty, has a more usable backseat, bigger trunk and is absolutely stunning inside and out.
Hoping to have my ordered 08 A5 in June...

When I did drive it I was not seriously considering it and didnt get into the drive.
this time I would spend more time with it.
that said, hands down its' interior and exterior is gorgeous and probably more "correct" looking than the TT from every angle.
