On first looks, the Camaro looks great - and I truly hope it can spark interest in the general public and be a success - that maybe the US car manufacturers can be rewarded for building cars people want they'll keep going in that direction. At the price points they are offering, it really looks like they can get some traction..
However, the difference of the two cars pricing is not 30k to 60k. It's more like 34000 to 51,000 for the S5. And as best as I can tell with a very cursory overview, there's nothing above the base S5 that is even available as an option in the top Camaro. (ie. no Adaptive headlights, No side assist, No Navigation, No Drive Select, etc.)
That's ok, though, as has been mentioned elsewhere the two cars have different target audiences. I think it will be a big success, and at the end of the day, there may be 1000 Camaro's on the road for every S5 - but that's ok by me..
