I also don't put plastic covers on my furniture and I remove all the tags and stickers from my baseball caps.
Life isn't a museum. Live it.

I live in Maine, the roads are bad, there is crap all over them, the car is lowered, and although I have confidence in my winter driving skills, I do not have confidence in everyone elses. That being said, if I don't have to drive it, I would rather not. I would rather "sacrifice" something that I don't have so much emotional (and monetary) investment in to the winter up here then this car, even though I do love driving it.
with the crap they throw on the roads up here in Maine and all the idiots on the roads who act like they've never seen snow before... I'm afraid to take mine out of the garage too.
I look at it this way... We have 7-8 months of good roads to drive the car, we can use the off time for repairs/mods.

Mine's stored too. At 11K miles, I still think of it as "new" and can't bring myself to torture it in the salt spray, grit, new potholes, following plow trucks that are dumping baseball-size salt clods, and bad drivers.
Maybe next winter, it won't seem so new anymore...
